The Sugar Terminal, part of the South African Sugar Association's International Marketing Division, has a vacancy for an Electrician at Maydon Wharf in Durban.  The Sugar Terminal is a bulk sugar handling and exporting facility that is ISO 9001 accredited and has a throughput of approximately one million tons of sugar each year. 

The Job

Reporting to the Electrical Maintenance Foreman, the incumbent will primarily be responsible for preventative and emergency plant maintenance of 380V switchgear, transformers, motors and basic instrumentation and control systems.   Further duties include project work, occasional shift and overtime work.

Requirements

The successful candidate will have a matric, recognised trade certificate, Wireman's Licence with three to five years experience ideally in a factory or mining environment together with a code EB drivers licence.  The ability to work from drawings together with knowledge of computers and basic instrumentation and control, is essential.

Package

Remuneration is commensurate with a position at an ''entry level specialist,'' a Paterson grade C3 / Peromnes 10 / TASK 11 / Hay 291.
