	Phillemon Sithole PhD student in Plant and Enviromental Resource Centre BSc Hons in Applied Biology and Biochemistry (National University of Science and Technology, Zimbabwe) MSc. in Agricultural Meteorology (University of Zimbabwe) Currently in second year of PhD studies, registered with the University of Free State (Department of Soil, Crop and Climate Sciences), Bloemfontein. Project aim: Evaluation and development of solar radiation estimation methods for water use and yield forecasts in the South African sugar industry.
	Terence Mhora MSc student in Crop Biology Resource Centre BSc Honours in Applied Biology and Biochemistry (National University of Science and Technology, Zimbabwe) First year MSc student, registered with the University of KwaZulu Natal's Faculty of Science and Agriculture, (School of Agricultural sciences and Agribusiness). Project aim: Study of the Genomics of quantitative and qualitative disease resistance in sugarcane.

	Natasha Govender MSc student in Crop Biology Resource Centre BSc Hons in Ecological Sciences (University of Kwazulu Natal) BSc in Ecological Sciences (University of Kwazulu Natal) Currently in the first year of MSc studies, registered at the University of Kwazulu Natal. Project aim - To evaluate the distribution, abundance and diversity of lepidopteran stem borers and their associated parasitoids in natural habitats and cultivated graminaceous fields in order to determine the role of natural habitats in integrated pest management.
	Tarryn Goble PhD student (Crop Biology and Resource Centre) MSc in Entomology (Insect Pathology) at Rhodes University BSc Hons in Entomology (Rhodes University) BSc in Entomology & Microbiology (Rhodes University) Currently in the first year of PhD study, registered with Rhodes University. Project aim- The investigation of an indigenous fungal species, Beauveria bassiana, formulated as a granular bio-insecticide for the control of white grubs (Scarabaeidae) in South African sugarcane.
